Outdoor Armored Fiber Optic Cable is a cost-effective and robust solution for access and distribution networks where the cable may be exposed to physical damage. The fibers are placed in a gel-filled loose tube and protected with corrugated steel tape armor and a UV-resistant PE sheath. Suitable for low fiber counts (typically up to 24FO) and available in Central Loose Tube (CLT) armored structures.

Note: Smoke/halogen standards such as IEC 60754-1 and IEC 61034-1&2 are typically relevant for LSZH sheath options. If your project requires LSZH, specify it during RFQ.

It is used in OSP environments where mechanical protection against crush/impact and rodent risk is required.
Yes, armored construction can be used for direct burial where heavy-duty protection is needed. Confirm site conditions during RFQ.
PE is optimized for outdoor UV and mechanical durability. LSZH is chosen when smoke/halogen requirements are needed (typically indoor or regulated environments).
Corrugated steel tape armor plus strength members (and correct installation) improves rodent and crush resistance.
Yes. Increased tensile strength options (e.g., aramid yarn or glass yarn) can be specified in the RFQ.
