IP55 vs IP66 Cabinet Guide
Compare protection levels, airflow trade-offs and outdoor exposure before choosing the enclosure rating.
19-inch industrial rack · Gasketed body · Floor standing
An IP55 free standing enclosure houses 19-inch equipment in dusty or damp industrial locations. The published family uses a fully welded steel framework, adjustable front and rear mounting profiles and gasketed panels and cable entry.
Size the enclosure for equipment, cabling, service access and heat load. Cooling openings, cable glands and door choices must form a configuration that preserves the required ingress protection.

| Item | Datasheet information |
|---|---|
| Framework | Fully welded steel; 1.5 mm galvanized steel bearing framework |
| Rear / side panels | 1.5 mm steel |
| Plinth | 1.5 mm galvanized steel; base module 100 mm high |
| Load rating | 1200 kg evenly distributed |
| Mounting profiles | Adjustable 19-inch front/rear profiles with U markers |
| Sealing | Gasketed panels and base cable entry |
| Front door opening | 135° |
| Grounding | Connection terminals provided on panels |
| Color | RAL 7035 light gray listed; confirm selected finish |
The rated load is an evenly distributed cabinet load. Confirm installation, floor capacity, fixation and equipment distribution for your project; do not interpret it as the load rating of every shelf or accessory.
The description lists 15U–42U and width/depth combinations of 600 × 600, 600 × 800, 800 × 600, 800 × 800, 800 × 1000 and 800 × 1200 mm. The PDF also contains an extended order-code table with external height and plinth dimensions. Specify both usable U height and external dimensions.
| Published order-code example | Width | Body + plinth height | Depth | Doors |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UP IP55-6012060-CC | 600 mm | 1200 + 100 mm | 600 mm | Single |
| UP IP55-8018060-CC | 800 mm | 1800 + 100 mm | 600 mm | Single |
| UP IP55-80200100-CC | 800 mm | 2000 + 100 mm | 1000 mm | Single |
CC denotes the color code in the PDF. Confirm the rack height, rail spacing, door type and configuration-specific dimensions on the final drawing.
The datasheet lists top-mounted fan modules and air inlet filters as options. An unqualified fan cutout, open cable hole or different door can change the enclosure's protection. Specify the complete cooling and gland arrangement and request confirmation of the resulting IP rating.
Provide equipment heat dissipation in watts, ambient conditions, dust/water exposure and the required internal temperature. A fan or filter choice cannot be sized from U height alone.
Compare protection levels, airflow trade-offs and outdoor exposure before choosing the enclosure rating.
Compare indoor and industrial enclosure families.
Consider an indoor equipment rack where IP protection is not required.
Plan power input and outlet requirements.
Arrange optical termination inside the enclosure.
Check U height, width and equipment depth.
Send drawings, heat load and ingress protection requirements.
The complete assembly must preserve the required ingress protection. Confirm the fan, filter and cable-entry arrangement for your selected enclosure.
No. The datasheet states an evenly distributed enclosure load rating. Shelves and accessories need their own load confirmation.
Provide equipment heat load, ambient temperature, target internal temperature, dust and water exposure, and cable-entry details.
