CAT6A F/FTP Data LAN Cable is designed for structured cabling where stable 10GBase-T performance and improved noise immunity are required. The cable uses 23 AWG solid bare copper conductors and a shielded construction to reduce EMI and improve signal integrity in dense cable routes. Test data is available up to 500 MHz (CAT6A performance band).

Key Specifications

  • Conductor: 23 AWG solid bare copper
  • Impedance: 100 ± 5 Ω @ 100 MHz
  • Frequency range (test data): up to 500 MHz
  • Max tensile strength: 95 N
  • Min. bending radius: 58 mm (during pulling), 29 mm (installed)
  • Operating temperature: −30°C to +70°C
  • Packing: 305 m / 500 m

Construction (CAT6A F/FTP)

  • 23 AWG Bare Copper
  • Skin/Foam/Skin PE Insulation
  • Al-Pet Foil (pair/overall shielding – 100% coverage as per datasheet)
  • Tinned Copper Drain Wire
  • Outer Sheath: PVC, HFFR* or PE

Jacket Options & CPR Euroclass

Choose the jacket type based on installation environment and required fire performance class (CPR).

Standards & Compliance

  • EIA/TIA-568-C.2
  • ISO/IEC 11801 (2nd ed)
  • IEC 61156-5, EN 50173-1
  • EN 50288-10-1

For our general standards & compliance approach, see: UPCOM Standards.

Typical Applications

  • IEEE 802.3 Ethernet networks: 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T, 10GBase-T
  • Power over Ethernet: PoE / PoE+

Installation Notes (Real-World)

  • Shielding only helps when grounded correctly. Use shielded connectors and proper bonding to avoid the shield acting like an antenna.
  • Keep bend radius limits during pulling to protect pair geometry and performance.
  • For dense trays or EMI-heavy routes, shielded constructions are typically preferred over unshielded options.
