Unterminated simplex cable
Specify fiber type and grade, total length, packing length, color and marking. Select this product when connector assembly will be completed by your installer or production team.
SX Zip · Single fiber · Supplied without connectors
Simplex zipcord fiber optic cable is supplied as unterminated cable for indoor interconnections, patch-cord manufacture and pigtail preparation. It has one optical fiber in a 900 µm LSZH/HFFR tight buffer; connectors are fitted separately.
A connectorized pigtail is supplied with a connector on one end. This product is the bare cable used before termination, so connector type, polish and finished assembly length are separate order requirements.

The datasheet identifies a 250 µm coated optical fiber within a 900 µm HFFR sheath. Single-mode 9/125 µm and multimode 50/125 or 62.5/125 µm fiber options serve different optical links; specify the required fiber grade in the quotation.
The dry, all-dielectric structure is intended for indoor communication equipment, distribution cabinets, frames and protected interconnect routes. It supports stripping and direct connector assembly. It is not an outdoor duct, aerial or direct-burial construction.
The linked product-specific PDF uses the designation J-V(ZN)H 1x1 SX Zip.
The linked SX Zip datasheet is the technical source for the following values. The 900 µm nominal dimension equals 0.90 mm; it is not a 900 mm cable diameter.
| Parameter | Published value |
|---|---|
| Fiber count | 1 |
| Tight buffer / outer sheath | LSZH / HFFR |
| Nominal diameter | 900 ±50 µm = 0.90 ±0.05 mm |
| Approximate weight | 0.9 kg/km |
| Tensile load | 10 N, as listed in the datasheet |
| Maximum published length | 8000 m; confirm packing and production length |
| Temperature range | −10 °C to +60 °C; IEC 60794-1-2 F1 |
| Minimum bending radius | 20 × outer diameter = 18 mm at nominal 0.90 mm diameter |
| Fiber options | Single-mode 9/125 µm; multimode 50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm |
| Standard colors in the PDF | Yellow: single-mode; blue: MM50; orange: MM62.5 |
| Termination | No connector fitted to the bare cable |

Specify the finished length, connector type, UPC or APC polish, fiber grade and required test limits. See the JV-H Pigtail page for the connectorized product path.
The SX Zip PDF cites DIN VDE 0888 Part 4, IEC 61034, IEC 60332-1/2, IEC 60754-2 and the IEC 60794 family. Confirm the applicable test evidence for your selected configuration; LSZH alone does not establish a CPR Euroclass.

No. Simplex Zipcord is supplied as cable without connectors. A connectorized pigtail is a separate finished product.
The nominal tight-buffer diameter is 900 µm, equivalent to 0.90 mm. The stated tolerance is ±50 µm, equivalent to ±0.05 mm.
State the required grade in the RFQ so UPCOM can confirm the construction and optical limits. The linked SX Zip PDF lists core/cladding options rather than a complete grade-specific attenuation table.
The published construction is for indoor interconnect and termination use. Select an appropriate outdoor cable for exposed, duct, aerial or burial routes.
Use the J-V(ZN)H 1x1 SX Zip datasheet linked on this page. JV-H Pigtail documentation applies to the separate pigtail product path.
